Skid Steer Consumer Complaints Investigation
Defective Product
Dual-armed skid steer loaders require entrance/exit from the vehicle over (or unfortunately sometimes under) the loader bucket. This places the operator directly in harm’s way should an unintended command engage the arms of the skid steer while the operator is entering or exiting. In addition, because the dual-arm design blocks a substantial area of peripheral vision, the operator driving the skid steer may have his or her view unnecessarily obstructed and could lead to collision, tipping, or other moving accident.
The complaints include hazards of forcing the operator to exit without a door; forcing him or her underneath or straddled over the loader bucket. In addition, dual-armed skid steer loaders force the operator to use the machine while his/her visual field is obstructed.
