Pedestrian Tragically Killed in Raleigh Wreck

At around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, September 28, tragedy struck for 24-year-old David Hamilton, Jr. According to police reports, Hamilton was walking near Capital Boulevard and Spring Forest Road in Raleigh when he was struck by a vehicle. Hamilton sustained serious injuries during the wreck, and was transported to WakeMed hospital for treatment, where he later died Sunday, according to a hospital spokesperson. Investigation into the heartbreaking wreck is still underway, per police reports.

It’s important to remember that motor vehicle accidents aren’t just a danger to drivers and passengers, they also pose a threat to pedestrians, many of whom are killed as a result of wrecks each year. Everyone is likely a pedestrian at one time or another, and it’s important to take the necessary steps to reduce pedestrian vulnerability on the road. Whether you’re driving or walking through pedestrian-friendly areas, always exercise extreme caution, especially in the evening when visibility is low.
