Moore County Accident Leaves Three Injured

Early this morning, two women were airlifted to UNC Hospitals as a result of an automobile collision in Moore County. Another driver, who sustained less severe injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital.

The accident occurred around 7 am on Highway 690 at Morrison Bridge Road in the town of Vass. Reports say that a black Volkswagen sedan collided with a blue Chevy GEO after the Chevy pulled out from a stop sign. The GEO, which was carrying the two women who were later airlifted to the hospital, overturned and landed near a body of water. Details of their injuries are unknown. The driver of the Volkswagen suffered non-life threatening injuries, was taken to Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. NC 690 remained shut down for more than an hour this morning as crews worked to clear the scene.
