WILMINGTON, NC - Police are investigating a deadly car accident that happened at 1:50 PM Saturday.

It happened at the intersection of Market Street and 15th Street.

Investigators say a Honda pulled out from a stop sign on 15th Street in front of a Volkswagen traveling westbound on Market.

The cars collided in the intersection.

The passenger in the Honda, Otis Thompson, died at the scene. He was 63-years-old.

Both drivers were injured but they are expected to be okay. They were transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
