Wayne County, NC Car Accident

WAYNE COUNTY -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a Wayne County crash that killed two teens Sunday evening.

The Highway Patrol told ABC11 Eyewitness News 17-year-old Lisa Myers of Dobbersville Road, near Mount Olive, crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck head-on. The truck was driven by her neighbor, Robert Thompson.

Myers' passenger, 15-year-old Tyler Brewer, was ejected from the car. Myers and Brewer were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup and his three passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Highway Patrol said speed and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
