Brown's Summit, NC -- A woman charged with driving drunk in an accident that killed three people Saturday night could face more charges.

The Highway Patrol met with the District Attorney Wednesday afternoon to talk about more charges other than the DWI, but DA decided to wait and see if the reconstruction team agrees with the police report.

The report says the driver, 20-year-old Amanda Spreduti, was traveling 90 mph down Fairgrove Church Road when she missed a curve and hit a tree. The three passengers, Sascha Hoffman, Scott Bedwell and Taylor McCaskill died.

"Today is going to be the hardest part because I know shortly we'll close the casket and it's the last chance I'll have to see my son," says Walter Bedwell, the father of 23-year-old Scott Bedwell, "You want to scream and make the world take notice that you lost something precious. Everybody is busy about. Everybody has their life, but something that was precious to me is gone."

"This is the worst one I've seen in the eight years I've been on," says Mitch Mann, the Highway Patrol trooper investigating the crash, "Any time there is something like this with deaths, they always get all the details so we can make the correct charge." Mann explains that soon a reconstruction team will break down each detail of the crash to figure out exactly what happened.

"She is human and we all make mistakes," says Tiffany Short, a friend of the three people who died in the accident. Short has stopped by every day since the crash. She didn't know the driver but all three who died were her friends, "She did make this choice, but she is human and we all make mistakes. But from an outsider looking on, all penalties are fair, all consequences are fair because she made the personal choice to get in the car behind the wheel while intoxicated."

"Somebody needs to deal with it, somebody seriously needs to deal with it, other than a smack on the hand and they walk again. Look at the damage. If she was drinking and they say she was, look at the damage and the people she's hurt. She's taken my son away, any chance for him to have a family, for me to have grandchildren, it's gone," cries Bedwell.

Highway patrol expects the reconstruction to be completed by the middle of next week. That's when any new charges could come.

Sperduti's attorney told WFMY News 2's Ashley Smith that she suffered severe head and shoulder injuries. She is still in the hospital and will be for several weeks. He said she hasn't been coherent enough to remember what happened Saturday night.
