CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man ended up in a creek after wrecking his car just outside Center City Charlotte early Wednesday morning.

The man was heading eastbound on West First Street when the accident occurred near Frazier Park.

The driver apparently got confused while attempting to make a turn.

According to the police department, the man drove his Dodge Challenger onto the greenway at the park and ended up in a nearby creek.

A witness helped the driver climb to the top of the ridge and the driver took off.

The driver went to his father's house located nearby and called police.

Police say the man may be charge with leaving the scene of an accident.
