GREENSBORO, N.C. - A Winston-Salem woman has been indicted on three charges of second-degree murder in a February DWI-related crash that killed three people.

Amanda Christine Sperduti, 21, of Winston-Salem was indicted on those three counts counts and five others by a Guilford County grand jury in connection with the Feb. 13 crash in Browns Summit.

The three people who died in the wreck on Fairgrove Church Road near N.C. Highway 150 in Guilford County earlier this year were Sascha Adela Hoffman, 18, of Whitsett; Scott Wayne Bedwell, 23, of Greensboro; and Taylor Leigh McCaskill, 18, of Brown Summit.

According to court records, Sperduti's blood alcohol content registered at 0.20. She is accused of driving 90 mph on Fairgrove Church Road near N.C. 150 shortly before the crash. The speed limit for that stretch of road is 45 mph.

In addition to the second-degree murder charges, the grand jury indicted Sperduti on three counts of aggravated felony death by motor vehicle and one misdemeanor count each of possession of a malt beverage by a minor, driving after consuming alcohol as a minor, exceeding a safe speed and drug possession. She also faces one count of driving while intoxicated but was not indicted on that charge on Tuesday.

Sperduti turned 21 in May and was underage when the crash occurred.

If convicted, Sperduti could face a minimum of 7-10 years in prison for each count of second-degree murder and 3-4 years for each charge of aggravated felony death by motor vehicle.

In July, agents with N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement charged Theresa Bruckner, 51, and her son, Kyle Bruckner, 22, both of 2824 Bevil Oaks Road, Browns Summit, have each been charged with three counts of aiding and abetting a person less than 21 years of age in possessing an alcoholic beverage.

ALE Special Agent Eric Hill, the lead investigator in the case, said that before the accident Sperduti, Hoffman and McCaskill were allegedly consuming alcoholic beverages at the Bruckner's home.

Sperduti, Hoffman, McCaskill and Bedwell left the Bruckner residence and just before 11 p.m., the car ran off the right side of the road striking a street sign, then a tree. The State Highway Patrol charged Sperduti with three counts of felony death by motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated as a provisional licensee, exceeding safe speed and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hoffman, McCaskill and Bedwell were pronounced dead at the scene.
