Tampa Deputy pushes paralyzed man out of wheelchair

People in the world are very difficult to shock with news now a days.  However, when a Hillsborough County Sheriff caught on camera dumping a paralyzed man out of his wheel chair this was a terrible scene for many television viewers to watch.  The TODAY Show quoted the alleged victim Brain Sterner as saying that this type of situation can happen any place at anytime.  The recorded video is an example of how individuals in authoritative position abuse their power because of negative aspects in their life.  Mr. Sterner hopes that individuals viewing this tape will change some of their thoughts for the better.

Captured video on January 29 depicts Mr. Sterner processed into county jail for a traffic violation.  It took several weeks for the victim to contact a local Tampa television anchor to break this horrible scene to millions of TV and internet viewers.  The 32-year-old victim broke his neck about 14 years ago and now only has use of his arms and not his legs.  Sterner is now thinking about filing charges against the Hillsborough Sheriffs Department for excessive police force.  He also hopes this will be a wake up for all other law enforcement to bring some type of change to the current system.

What Mr. Sterner is complaining about is the count less other victims of police brutality cases that never make it to a television station or even to the chief of police’s desk.  The police officer cited in the video is Charlette Marshall-Jones; the 44-year-old deputy has been suspended without compensation.  According to the report, three other deputies that were witnesses to the incidents have been put on administrative leave until further notice.

The victim states that he informed the officer three times that he was not able to stand because he is paralyzed from the waist down.  The officer disregarded a plea for help and threw the man on to the ground.  This is when the officer actually frisks the victim and dumps Mr. Sterner back into his chair for further processing.
